Yep, you read that correctly… You DO NOT need a website to run a business.
Those of you in our Living Your Success Signature business program know why I say this… AND it is yet another reminder.
That isn’t to say that, at some point, you might want a web site… it still isn’t absolutely necessary.
WHY? Because websites don’t sell. They are brochures. Brochures are places where people mill about and there is usually not a clear call-to-action.
Website are aggregates of all you are up to; great places to drive folks who are looking for you, your products and services.
But, unless you are on tons of media outlets (newspapers magazines or television) or have gone viral on YouTube, most people won’t be randomly doing Google searches for you.
So, what do you need instead of a website?
A sales page for your most popular product. For example, if you go to successsignature.com, it is not a web site. It is a sales page. A sales page has no other links off of it. The only thing to click on is the buy button. Now that is a clear call-to-action. And, voila! You are actually generating income.
A Blog can be your main site. It will get WAY more traffic and, as we have discussed here and other places, giving away free stuff allows a relationship to develop and they can get to know you… and trust you. AND voila! You are getting the attention of Google and starting to rank better.
A squeeze page – also known as an opt in page – is where you can give away a gift (usually an audio or video or PDF) in exchange for an email. They give you their email, you give them a gift. And voila! You are starting to develop a list of email followers.
All of these things serve you business WAY more than a brochure website could.
AND they are WAY less expensive to build. They don’t have the intricacies of navigation, graphics for home pages vs. linked pages, etc., As a result, it is much faster to get them done and up then design an extensive, multi-page web site.
So, go right now and get something up… Challenge yourself to have a presence of some sort in the next 21 days.
AND, if you’ve been relying on your web site, then, in the next 21 days, experiment with these other types of web presence that offer a clear call-to-action for your customers while delivering actual bottom line results to your business.
